Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with significant experience in a senior administrative role who are seeking to develop expertise across a wider range of business functions.

The qualification is suited to individuals who possess significant theoretical business skills and knowledge and wish to consolidate and build pathways to further educational or employment opportunities.

 Entry Requirements

  • All students must of the age of 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission
  • Entry in to this course requires IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent in line with DIBP regulations
  • Student will be required to complete a placement test to ensure that the student has the ability to complete the course. This test will occur prior to course commencement which includes
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy [LLN]

Prior to course commencement, every potential student’s English language skills will be assessed against current levels of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing proficiency to place them at the appropriate level

ASOC will conduct a LLN Test for each potential student. During this Test, if a student:

  • is assessed as needing additional LLN support, this will be provided during their course of study, or
  • is assessed as not having the appropriate English proficiency level for entry into this qualification, they will be required complete a preliminary English language course
  • A Pre – Enrolment Interview will be conducted after the student completes the LLN evaluation. This will ensure that the student will meet the requirements of the training product.

Pathways into the qualification

There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. However, there are preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification, which include:

  • after achieving the BSB50215 – Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification/sOR
  • providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB50215 – Diploma of Business or other relevant qualifications OR
  • with substantial vocational experience in management but without a formal qualification

 Pathways from the qualification

Successful completion may enable the student to apply for Degree Level courses at other institutions
